Scope: this tool cleans supported text-formatting characters. It does not detect or verify removal of statistical AI watermarks. What does that mean?

Choose what changes.

The first two options are selected by default. Review the effects before applying; invisible characters can be useful.

CharacterTypePositionAction

A small, transparent cleanup.

Works with pasted text from any source. Finding a character does not prove who wrote it.

  1. Paste and inspect

See which supported characters occur in the text and where they appear.

  2. Choose and review

Select the changes you want. Compare the preview with your original text; quotes, dashes and ordinary words are not rewritten.

  3. Apply and copy

Apply the selected changes, then copy the result. Your original text remains available for comparison.

No account, payment or AI rewrite API. This page does not store your pasted text. Reloading clears it. Hosting and performance analytics can still process request metadata; see the privacy policy.

Reproducible character examples

Know exactly what will change.

An unusual space between words

Hello[U+00A0]world → Hello[U+0020]world

The selected non-breaking-space rule inserts an ordinary space. The visible words remain, but line wrapping may change.

A joined emoji

👩‍💻 → 👩‍💻

The U+200D joiner stays. Removing it could split this emoji into separate symbols, so this tool preserves it.

These are constructed examples, not evidence that ChatGPT inserts watermarks.

Clear answers

ChatGPT watermark remover questions

Does this remove an AI watermark?

It removes or replaces only the character types listed in the cleanup options. Hidden characters and unusual spaces are not proof of a watermark. This tool has no statistical watermark detector and cannot verify whether a model-level signal is present or removed.

Can I use it with text copied from Claude or Gemini?

Yes, for the same character cleanup. Claude’s documented text watermark is based on word-choice patterns, not hidden characters. These cleanup rules do not establish its removal. See Anthropic’s explanation.

Will it preserve every meaning and every format?

Ordinary words, punctuation, tabs and line breaks are preserved. Selected changes can still affect wrapping or word boundaries. Some spaces are intentional, and zero-width spaces can be meaningful in certain languages. Review the preview; there is no universal semantic-preservation guarantee.

Is my text uploaded or saved?

The inspection and cleanup run in this page, with no text-upload or rewrite API. The tool does not save drafts in browser storage. Cloudflare hosts the page and may collect request or performance metadata; our tool code does not attach your text to it.

Does it rewrite sentences or bypass AI detectors?

No. It does not rewrite sentences, score AI authorship or test third-party detectors. The counts describe matched characters and selected edits only.

Can it remove marks from images, videos or PDFs?

No. This version handles pasted text only. It does not edit images, video, PDFs or file metadata.
